Valley School
Who We Are

Valley School is a Mesa County Valley School District #51 Academic Options program for grades 8 - 12.  We are located on the Western Colorado Community College campus.  Our school is a small learning environment where students can move forward with education to prepare them for life after high school.  We offer an alternative style of education for students who, for a variety of reasons, need a non-traditional setting.  We are dedicated to helping students stay connected to education through custom designed learning plans which are self-paced and fit the needs, circumstances, and learning styles of each student.

Valley School Philosophy

Valley School takes students where they are when the come to us and moves them forward from that starting point.  We see each student as an individual person with unique strengths, interests, and goals.  For some students, Valley School strives to rekindle an interest in education when they are disengaged and disenchanted.  For others, our program provides opportunities to accelerate their learning and to seek a deeper understanding of subjects for which they have a passion. We believe in our mission statement: The Valley School community builds relationships to stoke an everlasting curiosity within students, while developing their perseverance and problem solving skills, equipping them for future success.

The team of professionals at Valley School holds students, and each other, accountable for what we are all capable of, not what we are comfortable with, through academic and social experiences that change the way they see themselves and their world.
